Prior to 2018 my only knowledge of sewing was my Granny fixing a sock hole or shirt with her heavy singer in the wood case. My wife enjoys sewing, which is really an understatement, it is her zen!
When we first starting dating I didn’t fully understand her fascination to this seemingly ancient art. She does fit modeling/sewing where she creates clothes from peoples designs and photographs them for “fit” and provides notes, commentary, tutorial and so much more on the design. The first time she offered to make me a shirt I had flashbacks of my Granny and the homemade ketchup….but said “of course”. That was the best “of course” ever replied by man!
Over the years Rachel has made me a wardrobe full of clothes. Over the years I have given her more specifics and input and sooo many requests (one could say “gotten pickier”). I will see pictures of a hoodie or joggers and ask “will you make this for me?”. It is a true labor of love. The time and effort from her perfectionist fingers can never be quantified. Receiving her makes as a gift is way better than a 3 click purchase off my favorite clothing site. Imagine custom made clothes, where you pick the design and they fit your body to PERFECTION!
I love the joy she receives from creating. Everything she makes is absolutely stunning. We attended the Flowery Branch Festival this past weekend and she displayed her latest makes; bags! They were a hit, one set completely sold out! Part of the display was a vest she made and a lady literally wants to commision want and price seemed like no issue!!
